Regional Customs Training 2019

Applications are now open for Bord Bia’s Regional Customs Training Programme which aims to provide practical training to companies on the basic principles and requirements of customs, tariffs and non-EU trade. This will help companies prepare for Brexit, market diversification and will also support current and new business development.

The training will take place in two different locations – Thurles, Co. Tipperary and Athlone, Co. Westmeath. Details of the training can be found below:

Horse and Jockey Hotel, Thurles (February 20th and March 6th)
The first session will introduce participants to Customs and Trade requirements when exporting to a non-EU country. The session will cover areas such as the import and export process, customs clearance documents, supply chain mapping, exposure to tariffs and non-tariff barriers. 

The second session will focus on determining rule of classification, calculating cost implications from tariffs and duties, rules of origin and AEO.

Sheraton Athlone Hotel, Athlone (February 26th and March 11th)
The first session will introduce participants to Customs and Trade requirements when exporting to a non-EU country. The session will cover areas such as the import and export process, customs clearance documents, supply chain mapping, exposure to tariffs and non-tariff barriers. 

The second session will focus on determining rule of classification, calculating cost implications from tariffs and duties, rules of origin and AEO.

Note: Clients may only apply to one of the two regional groups. Participants must be available to attend all sessions in their selected regional group in order to be accepted on to this programme.
