This section covers a summary of funding facilities available to both start-up and established companies from both state agencies and private funding. It also includes references for going about employing key staff to help you to set up and run your business.
General Information on Agency Supports:
A detailed business plan for a minimum of three years is recommended for all applications
De Minimus Aid Rule – this is a ceiling on the amount of aid that a state agency can fund any individual company set by the EU. It states that “Cumulative Aid from any State Agency cannot exceed €200,000 in a 3 year period (€150,000 for Micro-Enterprises)”
State agency aid is not available for the primary production of agricultural products, fisheries and aquaculture
The other services provided by all state agencies e.g. training, advice, mentoring and information, known as “soft supports” can be just as if not more beneficial to start-up companies than funding.
